Not sure I got the lipstick spot on to go with this wonderful dress by Suzannah, who is one of my favourite designers. I mixed my best red lipstick by Chanel with ‘vegas volt’ by Mac. I suppose I had not been firm in my decision to clash or match and the rush of an early evening’s departure resulted in an inbetween result.
None the less the dress made me feel good..

Just as well because I was going to an important event..

The event was full of film stars, some of whom I knew. Some had been colleagues- Charles Dance and Tom Hollander in ‘Gosford Park’, Keira Knightley in ‘The Edge of Love,’ Benedict Cumberbatch in ‘The Fifth Estate’ and Leslie Manville in ‘Fleming.’
Emma Thomson joked how she had done some things for money but she hadn’t really liked it- studios are good but independent films are the true demonstration of commitment to one’s art and passion!
Certainly, the sense of achievement felt by the winners at The British Film Awards last night would perhaps not have been quite so effusing had the struggle to make an independent film not been so very, very arduous. Congratulations to all involved!
